As an experienced Technical Official, are you seeking a challenge, looking to expand your global contacts and have a passion for our sport and an interest to work with other experienced officials at a World Masters Athletics championship?

On behalf of the WMA Council and the 2026 Daegu Local Organising Committee (LOC) an invitation is extended to International Volunteer Officials interested in applying to officiate at the 2026 WMA Stadia Championships in Daegu, Korea.

Applications will close 30 September 2025 and no late applications will be considered. Appointments will be notified by 1 November 2025. Should you have the necessary experience and skills required for this event, the WMA Council and the WMAC 2026 Daegu LOC look forward to receiving your application. 

The Daegu LOC will provide a championship uniform package, together with working meals and shared accommodation (single accommodation may be available for those who wish to pay the difference in accommodation price) with arrival on Thursday 20 August (two days before start of competition) and departure on Friday 4 September 2026 (the day after the competition ends). Officials Briefings and the Opening Ceremony will be held Friday 21 August. Costs for visas, travel and general expenses together with medical insurance cover would be your own responsibility.

As an appointed WMA IVO, your support in the following key areas will assist and guide the local officials:

  • the Call Room (where organizational and language skills are imperative);
  • the technical equipment rooms (where experience in implement management is imperative);
  • the field event areas (to assist with the huge number of competitions and athletes) and,
  • on the track to ensure the complex program is delivered on time.
  • In the Welcome Center (where organizational skills and language skills are imperative) to ensure the smooth accreditation and confirmation process.

Under WMA’s Officiating Philosophy every official appointed should aim and be responsible for ensuring that each athlete is given every possible opportunity to achieve their best performance in a safe and fair competition in accordance with competition rules.
