Leung Chi Cheong Hong Kong, China

One of Hong Kong, China’s leading masters hurdlers, Leung Chi Cheong has developed into a World Masters champion and record holder in the sprint hurdles, representing Asia at the highest level.

Biography
Leung Chi Cheong is a home-grown Hong Kong athlete who began his sporting career in football before transitioning to athletics in 2002. He has represented Hong Kong, China and the University of Hong Kong in national and international competition. He holds degrees in Biochemistry, Education, and Teaching from the University of Hong Kong.

Athletic Performance
.
Leung is the M40 World Masters 110m hurdles champion (2024) and a multiple Hong Kong Masters record holder in the 110m hurdles for both M35 and M40 categories. He also received the AMA Excellence Award for Best Asia Male Master Athlete in 2025.

Community Impact
Leung is dedicated to youth development through coaching and education. He coaches at HKU Athletics Team and Wah Yan College Kowloon Past Students’ Association Athletics Team, focusing on technical development and values such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
