MAFS-Study: Research on aging athletes at the World Master Athletics Championships in Malaga — Athletes Wanted
At the World Masters Athletics Championships in Malaga from 4-16 September 2018, the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine and the University of Malaga are conducting a field study with athletes on site. We want to collect data during the competition that are of interest for medical researchers as well as for the athletes. The focus this year is on age-related changes in skeletal muscle connective tissue, blood vessels, heart function, resting metabolism and psychological condition.
The study will contribute to a better understanding of age-related health and show how regular training promotes both cardiovascular health and metabolism.
Schedule
The study will be conducted from September 4-16, 2018 during the World Master Athletics Championships (WMAC) in Malaga, Spain. Participation in the study takes about three hours in total with two or three appointments.
